Which shipping carrier do you use the most?

I’ve been getting more volume that’s been requiring to ship documents for not only California apostilles but many for other states around the US like Maryland, Virginia, Florida, and Nevada. Wanted to see what’s the carrier that you all benefit from the most. I have business accounts with all below.

-FedEx
-UPS
-DHL
-USPS

Thank you!

Welcome to the community, Michael! Great question — shipping is such an important part of the apostille workflow, especially when you’re dealing with multiple states.

Here’s a general breakdown that many notaries find helpful:

FedEx tends to be a top choice for time-sensitive apostille documents. Their overnight and 2-day options are reliable, and their tracking is excellent. Many professionals prefer FedEx for high-value or urgent shipments.

UPS is a strong runner-up, especially for domestic shipments. Their business accounts often come with competitive pricing and solid delivery guarantees.

USPS Priority Mail Express can be very cost-effective for domestic apostilles, and it’s often the most affordable overnight option. The downside is slightly less predictable delivery windows compared to FedEx/UPS.

DHL shines for international shipments — if any of your apostille clients need documents sent overseas, DHL is usually the go-to.

For multi-state volume like yours (CA, MD, VA, FL, NV), a lot of notaries keep FedEx as their primary for urgent packages and USPS Priority for standard turnarounds to save on costs.

Would love to hear what’s been working best for you so far! Anyone else in the community have a preferred carrier for apostille shipments?
